Frenchman Anthony Martial is on course to miss the huge Premier League clash between his Manchester United side and Arsenal this weekend. Manchester United play hosts to Arsenal in the English top flight on Sunday and French international Martial will most likely miss the game. The former AS Monaco and Sevilla attacker is expected to miss the game against Arsenal due to injury.
Anthony Martial was in very good form for Manchester United in pre-season this summer and he was set to start the new Premier League campaign as the central striker for his team. In the end, he was unable tostart the season as expected due to injury. The Frenchman was not in the Manchester United squad when they lost their opening game of the new league season to Brighton and Hove Albion. German midfielder Pascal Gross found the back of the net two times in the first half to lead Brighton to an away win. Manchester United scored in the second half through Alexis Mac Allister (own goal), but they could not find the second goal to secure a point from the game.
In addition to the Brighton game, Martial also missed the 4-0 away defeat to Brentford on the second weekend of the new league season in the English top flight. He returned from injury as a substitute at the start of the second half during the 2-1 win over arch rivals Liverpool at home last week Monday. He sustained another injury from the Liverpool game to miss the games against Southampton and Leicester City as a result.
